Dear UN Ukraine Summer Course 2014 Graduates,
Congratulations – you made it till the end!! J We cannot thank you enough for taking part in our course – hopefully you will be able to put into use the knowledge and skills acquired during the past six days!
Kindly see attached the presentations from yesterday and today (we will send you the one about UNV from Shinobu Mashima next week). Yulia will also send you the complete list of all our guest speakers next week.
Project proposal – as agreed, you will have time until 15 August to polish your project proposals, after which you should send it tojohanna.puhakka@undp.org and victoria.andrievska@unic.org for our comments (kindly see attached project proposal template once more for this purpose). Once you have received our further guidance and feedback regarding your project (via email, or if you want to meet Victoria during August, you may be directly in touch with her), you may start implementing it. The tentative deadline for implementing your project is 30 October 2014, but as discussed, we are flexible with this and you may also take more time if needed – just let us know your timeline in your project proposal Acton Plan. Also, if you are organizing your project activity during August/September/October, there is also a slight chance for us to come and visit your project, so let’s stay in touch and see whether such opportunity would arise! J
Below you may also find some additional tips for career development, as well as attached the presentation about competency-based interview, which I talked about earlier today. Hope all this information is useful to you!

As a very last tip for getting your dream job in some point of your life, I would also like to stress the importance of networking and making good first impressions on your potential future bosses and colleagues whom you may get the opportunity to meet unexpectedly – these situations are usually much more important than any job application which you ever send to your dream organization, and therefore it is highly important that you practice such situations – usually called as “elevator pitch” – to be prepared and not to freeze when the moment to make the lasting impression to someone important comes: http://www.forbes.com/sites/nextavenue/2013/02/04/the-perfect-elevator-pitch-to-land-a-job/ and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPS_qNC1kTo andhttp://www.mindtools.com/pages/article/elevator-pitch.htm and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgCssZhVUUE.

Let me know if you have any questions, it was a pleasure to work with you all & let’s stay in touch! J
Best wishes
